Dr. Bob’s™ Spirulina (50%) is a microscopic freshwater plant, an aquatic micro-vegetable/organism. It is a whole-food, not a concentrate, not an extract. Like Chlorella it is detoxifying and a person cannot eat too much and overdose on Spirulina.

Spirulina contains more bio-chelated organic iron than any other whole-food. Bio-chelated means that the iron will easily be assimilated into the body. It is the richest source of natural antioxidants including zinc, manganese, selenium and copper, the amino acid methionine, vitamin E, vitamins B-1 and B-6, the amino acid methionine, and beta-carotene. It is extremely rich in chlorophyll and contains Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), which is an essential fatty acid that has been shown very helpful in the relief of joint pain. Spirulina is a Complete Protein which means it has all the eight essential amino acids as well as ten others. Spirulina is less than four calories per gram and almost no cholesterol.
